Claire joined The Gateway Trust (TGT) as HR Director in April 2024, bringing significant HR experience within the education sector. She previously served as the HR Manager for a school that, during her 15-year tenure, transitioned from a Local Authority school to an academy and eventually grew into a Multi Academy Trust of three schools. Additionally, Claire has recent HR experience from the charity and higher education sectors.

As a Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD), Claire is committed to leading a professional HR service across the Trust while adhering to their Code of Conduct and Ethics. This code emphasises positive and active impact on working lives, civic virtue and stewardship, good character, professional service, competence, and responsibility. Claire believes these principles align well with TGT’s vision, which is supported by the Trust’s key values of respect, aspiration, integrity, service, and equality.
